Don’t worry, this article is for you! Here are a few tips to help your kids eat a healthier version of pasta with cheese.

1. Make a vegetable and tomato sauce for their pasta with cheese.

A great way to get your kids to eat a healthier and different version of pasta with cheese is to make a vegetable sauce including, for example: carrots, courgettes, red peppers, aubergines and fresh tomatoes.

This way your kids can start to get to know these new flavours. And most importantly? You will be giving them the nutrients and vitamins they need.

2. Switch your everyday pasta for a legume-based pasta to make your pasta with cheese 100% healthy.

Have you heard about legume pasta? In case you didn’t know, legume pasta is a variety of dried pasta made with pea, chickpea or lentil flour.

It’s a healthier option with a similar flavour to your regular wheat pasta. It’s ideal to make the pasta with cheese your kids love so much but also adding the nutritional benefits of a legume dish.

3. Add cheese made only with natural ingredients when making your pasta with cheese.

Another way to make your pasta with cheese healthier for your kids is to use a natural cheese.

How can you know if a cheese is natural? A cheese can be called natural if it contains milk as its main ingredient. It also contains ferments, salt and rennet (an enzyme that makes the milk curdle). In contrast, processed cheese contains butter, cream and preservatives.

So, next time you’re at the supermarket, read the ingredients on the cheese packaging carefully and make sure they are 100% natural. Then you’ll have a completely healthy dish of pasta with cheese!
