How to cook lasagne at home

  1. Heat water in a saucepan. When it boils, add a couple of pinches of salt. Add the lasagne sheets one by one making sure they don’t stick to each other and let them boil following the package instructions. If you are in a hurry, you can skip this step by using Gallo’s oven ready lasagne sheets.
  1. Sauté your choice of ingredients together. It could be meat, spinach, mushrooms… or anything else you have in your fridge. Cook all the ingredients in a frying pan over a low heat, and after a few minutes, add the tomato sauce.
  2. To build the lasagne, add a few tablespoons of bechamel sauce to the bottom of a tray. Place the sheets on top, add a layer of the tomato sauce mixture and another layer of bechamel. Repeat this process until you have, at least, three levels. If you want, and if the tray is big enough, you can build more layers. Finally, top it off with a generous layer of bechamel and add grated parmesan cheese or another cheese suitable for grilling.

Lasagne cooking time in the oven

If you are wondering how long you need to cook lasagne for, the answer is pretty easy, although it will depend on the type of oven you have at home. The important thing is to preheat the oven to 180ºC or 200ºC before putting the lasagne in. If you put the lasagne in the oven at 180ºC, the cooking time will be approximately 30 minutes. And if you preheat the oven to 200ºC, 20 minutes will be enough. However, the secret to a perfectly cooked lasagne is to keep an eye on it and take it out of the oven when the cheese is completely melted and slightly golden on top.
